That is sooooo cool! I think it looks like the leaves are anticipating some weather to roll in. They look like they’re ready to stand their ground and stay put on their branches! 🙂
They do look strong; that was one of my thoughts, too. I was bracing myself for a windy, rainy day but it was sunny most of the day. They call Montana Big Sky country, but I think Oregon could give them a run for their money some days. Fabulous photo ops. Have a great day, Jess. 🙂
🙂 I’d love to know how old the King is, since we are only hearing it from neighbors. I love that farmers have saved it by farming around it for many, many years. Love that! 🙂
And I sincerely hope those farmers keep right on farming around our King. It’s a massive thing, a site to behold. 🙂 Do we get to see photos of yours?
My scientific self sees the sun burning through the clouds, but my spiritual self instantly saw “the eye of God.” What a lovely photograph, Karenlee! Hope we get to see more of this trail in the near future.
That is a lovely thought, Lynda. This is why I posted that photo; I wanted to see what all of you see. The Eye of God made me smile. Thanks so much for commenting. Oh, and how did you know? I’ve been taking photos along that trail…working on a post. Thanks for stopping by. Hope all is well at the Farmlet. 🙂
Before reading the comments, I also saw the sun breaking through the clouds. Then I thought maybe it was a tornado! But I am glad it is the first. Much more uplifting!
Thank you, Amy. It’s also somewhat metaphorical. I was affected by that quote, individual perspective, and what is going on in our country. I wondered if it’s true that we see what we want to see, sunshine, colors, clouds, leaves, light, dark, dull, shiny…
When the sun poked through, I stopped to soak it up (and then grabbed my camera) because later it’s supposed to rain. It was so bright I did not see the colors around the sun until later. 🙂
Thank you, Ann, and yes, it is. The sort-of trail that runs near our property is a photo op for nature lovers. I probably spend more time out there than I do cleaning my house….(my family would scoff about now). 😉

Oh I love that about the sky! We’re down in the river bottom with no trees and its skies all about! 🙂

Sounds like a lovely setting as well. When writing this, I was reminded about Glory. Such lovely trees we have in our midst! We are lucky. 🙂

We are! Glory is blowing around in the breeze and is as green as ever! 🙂

I think given the choice between being on that trail or house-cleaning, I’d make the same choice!!

Any day of the week, that’s for sure. They are calling for rain later, so I am taking full advantage; I’ve been out twice (so far). 😉
