Thank goodness at last I’ve got a laptop that is now working and enabling me a good old catch up. I’ve missed so much on your blog – so sorry.. but hopefully I’m not ‘deleted’ as a follower just yet! A very BELATED Happy New Year – what a very cute photo! Hopefully it’s not too much longer before your son returns from his adventure.. May all your dreams come true for 2017 Karen xx

LOL. No, you won’t be deleted. Silly woman (laughing as I write). Yes, I am off on a new adventure–I have two, actually, starting very soon–and I am very excited about both. Our son has come home but I’ve yet to share about the attic room we fixed for him while he was away. I got sidetracked when I found Blitz. I’m a tad behind myself as you know, but isn’t that always the case? Hmmm….I think I need to work on that one, too. 😉 ❤

Aww – that’s brilliant – I’m so glad he’s home and all in one piece! Yep I know that feeling of getting side tracked too.. I need to get ‘focussed’! x

Hmmm… it says that the comment is approved on my dashboard. I was able to read it and reply. Strange that it didn’t show up for you, but thank you for your response and for liking the post! I loved the way you connected it to parenthood and your experiences both as a parent and as a daughter. Your words always nudge me to consider my parents with more generosity and compassion. Thank you!

That is odd; I clicked the send button three times and it did nothing….a hiccup on my end. On the latter part of your comment…I wasn’t always as appreciative as I am now. I think it took life in general and the passing of my father–I also see my mother differently now than before–to realize a lot about my life and life in general. I had fabulous grandparents, very loving parents, and a desire from them for me to succeed. There is so much we don’t see until later. That is why I love sharing the photos of my childhood here because dad took most of those and his mother and aunts and uncles were such a big part of that time. Anyway, glad you found a take away from the post. Have a great day! 🙂

Oh, Janet, I cannot tell you how much happiness that brings. Thank you! Our father was quite the photographer, and he had a way of finding that special moment. I wish I wasn’t so late in appreciating his “eye” and seeing what he saw when he took those shots. Regardless, whenever I see this one, it brings back memories of a wonderful father. Thank you for sharing the moment. ❤

Yes, we are too but like the fact that he will be seeing my college friend Terry first in Thailand, so he’ll get to see a familiar face and do a bit of traveling. This was one of many photos taken by our father. He had “the eye” for when to shoot and capture a great shot. Are you packing for your move?

He could be difficult, but by the end of his life, he’d become quite pleasant. I was glad my sister and I had both made peace before he passed. If not, I can see how that would have been very difficult over the years. He could also be hilarious, and those are the times I choose to focus on and hold dear. ❤

I understand. I have encountered relatives with similar issues. I’m glad you found peace and have some great times to look back on. Orah sure screwed things up! Just kidding. ❤️

She may have tried, but in the end, it was dad who stopped her legacy. Yes, some of his “ways” were directly related to how he was parented but he knew that many of her behaviors needed to stop. He was a very strong man. I guess in the end he won. ❤

Not quite to the packing yet. Got to get this house ready to list. The to-get-it- ready lists are monstrously long! Yikes. Little Bit has decided he wants to move on March. Ha. I was thinking April. Means I need to start checking things off those list. Cleaning baseboards, filling nail holes, replacing window screen type things…

All those details are what I fear when we leave this house. I may hire someone….and sit back and plow through a bag of Rolos. 😉

Yep, less than a week now. ❤ He's a very private person and has not been overly talkative with his friends about going and what he's been doing. We're anxious to talk to him and find out more details. 🙂 He will soon visit my college friend who lives near there and then home.
